Transformers: The World Is Ready For New Director

Transformers is among beloved franchise and have huge fanbase around the world. I admit that I'm not hardcore Transformers fans but I always like Transformers since I was a kid. When talk about Transformers, people always ask which side are you. I will reply that I prefer Decepticon than Autobots because for me they are really badass and cool. 

As we know that we will get chance to see (or in some country already saw) Transformers Age Of Extinction which is the fourth movie in Transformers franchise. Transformers movie franchise is huge movie franchise. Paramount has announce that the fifth Transformers movie is coming in 2016 (source: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/cineeurope-paramount-screens-transformers-age-712745), so this is perfect opportunity that I will talk about Transformers movie franchise and my wishlist for new director 

Yes, Paramount has not announce who will be next director for fifth Transformers movie but I get a feeling that if Transformers movie do well in the box office, Michael Bay will remain as director for Transformers franchise. For me this is really such waste opportunity. If I am Paramount President, I will hire new director to make Transformers movie fresh and exciting. Wait, I do not say that I hate Michael Bay but I want something fresh from Transformers movie franchise. 

Yeah I know that we will get to see Dinobots in upcoming Transformers movie but that for me is not  enough to keep me excited for this franchise. I will say that I enjoy (not love) watching the first Transformers movie but second and third for me kill the franchise because I don't like the film. I hope that Transformers Age Of Extinction is good so that I will be excited for future Transformers movie franchise or otherwise I may not care for any Transformers movie ever again (or well this may sound a bit cliche)

I can name my wishlist director to take over this Transformers franchise from Michael Bay but it might waste my time because Paramount will probably never decide to change director unless Transformers movie flop in the box office (which seem like impossible because so many adults and kids watch this movie) or Michael Bay decide to leave this franchise (which seem like not likely because Transformers movie franchise is so far among his successful movie in terms of box office) 

 Last but not least, I hope that Transformers movie franchise will keep success in the future. Okay as for nostalgic moment, lets watch this iconic opening from original Transformers cartoon 

Star Trek 3: Top 5 Directors Who Is Much Better Choice To Direct This Movie

Star Trek is very popular franchise in Science Fiction movie genre. In my opinion it is the second biggest sci-fi movies behind Star Wars. I must admit that I'm not a really Star Trek die hard fans (actually I prefer Star Wars over Star Trek any day)

 

The first Star Trek movie that I watch is Star Trek 2009 which is directed by J.J Abrams. It really surprise me alot. I really enjoy the film and it is really great movie. Then last year I watch Star Trek Into Darkness, sure it is not same level in terms of quality compare to Star Trek 2009 but it still very fun ride and good movie that I can enjoy watching. I know die hard Star Trek fans really hate Star Trek Into Darkness (well I respect your opinion).

Recently It is announce that the director that in my opinion did a good job in Star Trek movie franchise, J.J Abrams decide to leave the franchise because he will joining another Sci-fi movie franchise , Star Wars. This makes movie audience curious who will replace J.J Abrams to direct Star Trek 3

 

It is officially announce that Roberto Orci will be director to direct Star Trek 3. The reason is Roberto Orci never direct any small movies but now his first directorial debut is big summer blockbuster movie.  

Sure he know Star Trek franchise because he is the screenwriter, but that doesn't make you qualify to be director. Directing a movie and Writing a script is two different things. For example David S Goyer is very good screenwriter for example he write Blade 2 but he is not very good director example he direct Blade 3 and that movie is terrible. 

Another example is a very great cinematographer, Wally Pfister (cinematographer of Inception, The Dark Knight) recently makes his first directorial debut as director in Transcendence and that movie is horrible and terrible. Director is very difficult jobs and this is why it is difficult to be a great director which constantly makes a good movie 

Now I will list my top 5 director who is much better choice to direct Star Trek 3 

1)Guilermo Del Toro 

He is well respected director. He have done many great and awesome movies. Some of the film he directed is Pacific Rim, Hellboy, Blade 2 . This is very good track record if you ask me. He will be great choice to direct Star Trek 3 

2)Joss Whedon 

He is another well respected director. Right now I consider him as George Lucas and Steven Spielberg of this generation (yeah sure I might be bias on this but I really like him as director). Among great film he has directed is The Avengers and Serenity. This makes him perfect candidate and much better choice to direct Star Trek 3 

3)Alfonso Cuarón 

Many might not recognise him but he has done a few good movies as a director. Among the movies he has directed is Gravity and Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban. If you ask me, he definitely can make an awesome Star Trek movie 

4)Neill Blompkamp 

He is only directed a few movies compare to other director that I mention, but he got potential to be on the same level to be high profile director and all he need to is big blockbuster movie to prove it. He is director of District 9 (which not many people watch it but it is surprisingly good movie). So in my opinion, he must be given opportunity to direct big blockbuster movie to prove to the world that he is talented director and in my opinion, Star Trek is great franchise for him to show that 

5)Matt Reeves 

He is very talented director. His new projects is upcoming Dawn of the Planet of the Apes which judging by trailer looks absolutely fantastic and awesome (I really excited about that movie). Among his previous works is he is director of Cloverfield which surprisingly good movie in my opinion. So he is perfect choice to direct Star Trek 3 

This is just my opinion, you might disagree with me and I respect that. I might be wrong and Roberto Orci might prove to me that he can make Star Trek 3 awesome but so far I still believe he is wrong choice and many director in hollywood which is far better choice. Right now, all we can do is wait until Star Trek 3 hits cinema.

X-men Movie Franchise vs Spider-man Movie Franchise

Yes, X-men and Spider-man is characters from Marvel comics but many don't know that movie rights for both franchise is not belongs to Marvel (to be exact is Disney) . X-men is belongs by 20th Century Fox while Spider-man is belongs to Sony.

 

Sure, in terms of popularity Spider-man is more popular compare to X-men. For example the first Spider-man movie (year 2002) makes more than 800 million USD worldwide (source: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=spiderman.htm) compare to first X-men movie (year 2000) which almost makes 300 million USD worldwide (source : http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=xmen.htm) 

Both of this movie franchise have makes some really terrible and horrible movies for example X-men Wolverine Origins and Spider-man 3 is very terrible comic book movie (some of you might disagree with me and have different opinion about this movies and I respect your opinion)

Interestingly both of this movie franchise takes different approach and route. Spider-man movie franchise decide to reboot the franchise and start over with The Amazing Spider-man while X-men movie franchise decide to continue the continuity and not to reboot the franchise with X-men First Class

This year, Spider-man movie franchise release The Amazing Spider-man 2 while X-men movie franchise release X-men Days of Future Past. Both of this movie have different story. The Amazing Spider-man 2 is get mix reviews from movie audience and movie critics. This shown at Rotten Tomatoes, The Amazing Spider-man 2 got 53% score ratings

I watch both of this movie and if I have to choose which is better movie, I will say X-men Days of Future Past over The Amazing Spider-man 2. Don't get me wrong, I don't think The Amazing Spider-man 2 is really bad movie but to be honest this movie is total let down from the first The Amazing Spider-man. Meanwhile, at first I really think X-men Days of Future past gonna suck but OMG I was wrong. It is so good and the prove is I watch it twice in cinema. Really worth it. 

In terms of box office, The Amazing Spider-man 2 opening box office weekend is the lowest opening for Spider-man movie franchise while X-men Days of Future Past opening box office weekend is the highest opening for X-men movie franchise. Also looks like The Amazing Spider-man 2 might be the lowest box office for Spider-man movie franchise and It is official X-men Days of Future Past is the highest box office for X-men movie franchise. 

Now I will analyse the weakness of Spider-man movie franchise. For me all Spider-man movie franchise has similar plot to the story. The villain is innocent guy at first and then become a villain, also the hero has complicated relationship with girl. This for me is totally bad in my opinion, because this will makes audience tired of this same plot. Meanwhile, X-men movie franchise is so different because they don't really have same plot from one movie to other movie. This makes the X-men movie franchise fresh and exciting. This also another factor that X-men Days of Future Past become the highest box office for X-men movie franchise. 

If you ask me, I love Spider-man more than X-men. So I really hope in the future that Spider-man movie franchise can makes some improvement for example makes a villains which is completely evil (tired of good people become bad type of villain). Also congrats to X-men movie franchise because right now I really enjoy the direction that they decide to take. Okay this is my review regarding X-men Movie Franchise vs Spider-man Movie franchise

Batman vs Superman Movie News

Last year is 75th anniversary of Superman, meanwhile this year is 75th anniversary of Batman. People of the world really have been asking for Superman and Batman in one movie together for long time. It is weird that this two iconic superheroes have never appear together in the same screen in live action movie ever. Some people speculates that in might not ever happens.

However something spectacular and unbelievable occur. It is announce at San Diego Comic Con 2014 last year that the sequel for Man of Steel is coming and the director Zack Snyder have make epic announcement that the movie we will see Superman and Batman will face off. This upcoming movie will be inspire from the famous comics, Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns. The original release dates for this movie is in July 2015 but it been decided to push the release dates to May 2016.

 

This announcement have make many people excited. Now after the announcement makes, the important question is "who is the actor that have been cast as Batman ?", we know that Henry Cavill will returns as Clark Kent/Kal El/Superman in this upcoming movie. For those who doesn't know, this Batman is in different universe from previous Batman movies. Finally it is been announce that Ben Affleck will be Bruce Wayne/Batman in this upcoming movie. After that, a few months later another big news reveal that Wonder Woman will appear in and play a major parts in this movie. The actress is cast as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince is Gal Gadot. A few weeks ago, the official title and log for this movie has been announce and it is call "Batman VS Superman : Dawn of Justice". From this title it is basically confirms that Batman and Superman will fight each other in this movie, then become 'friends' and forms Justice League 

 

Also, the director for this upcoming movie Zack Snyder has posted the picture of Ben Affleck in the batsuit and batmobile. Furthermore, it has been leak picture of Superman big statue (which might take inspiration from the comics) will appear in this movie.

Hopefully, this upcoming movie will be success in box office and a good movie that everybody can enjoy and proud with. Wish all the cast and director of this upcoming movie success and good luck. Personally I'm excited for this sequel project because it is the first time we will get to see Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman (which their popular name is DC Trinity) in the same live action movie together. Last but not least, my wishlist for the movie is hopefully we will get easter egg, reference or appearance of Supergirl and Nightwing. For now, my advice to others is now all we can do is only wait for 2016 (which is 2 years from now and it is really long time to wait) and by the time this movie comes out, we see it and after that we judge the movie by ourself.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron News So Far

After the successful of The Avengers movie, we know that the sequel of the movie is coming. In San Diego Comic Con last year, Marvel announce the official title for Avengers 2 is Avengers : Age Of Ultron (which is not based or related  to Age of Ultron comics) and will be release on May 2015

 

The star of first Avengers movie, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner Samuel L Jackson will come back and reprise their role and Joss Whedon is return to direct the sequel
